Roller Skater Life: Almost a Year Later, I'm Back
Yep, this is what roller skating looks like for those of us who live for it. 🛼 Road rash, bruises, and all—it's part of the territory when you're passionate about something.
But here's the thing: I hadn't been on skates in nearly a year. It started when I was skating in my usual spot and noticed a vehicle with open doors blocking my path—no clear way to get around it. Something felt off. So I did what my gut told me: I turned around and got out of there.
But here's what happened after: fear paralyzed me. For months, I couldn't get back on my skates. I was just putting it off, letting fear make my decisions.
Then I decided to stop being a victim of fear and start solving the problem instead.
I brainstormed. What would make me feel safer? What would give me back my passion? And I found it: a new skating location with more traffic, better visibility, and a whole different energy. A genuine blessing came out of that scary moment—this new place is so much better.
Yesterday, I finally got back on my skates. Really back. And I fell—hard enough to get this beautiful road rash. And honestly? It was so worth it.
Roller skating has been my passion since I was a little girl. I wear bike gloves and that's it—no knee pads, no wrist guards. My knees have plenty of scars to prove it. This scrape on my knee, the slight wrist injury—they're just proof that I'm living my passion again.
But here's what I want you to know: Don't let fear stop you—get smarter about it. Be aware of your surroundings. Trust your instincts. If something feels wrong, take action. Make changes. Take precautions. But never, ever stop doing what you love.
And here's the real talk: I can do what I love because I've invested in my body's performance. The products I've incorporated into my wellness protocol aren't just supplements—they're the foundation that allows me to push my body, recover from falls like this, and keep showing up for the things that matter to me. If you're curious about what my wellness protocol looks like and how I fuel my body to stay active and strong at 40+, I'd love to share that with you.
Almost a year later, I'm proof that you can choose courage over fear. You can brainstorm solutions instead of accepting defeat.
Skate for life. 🛼✨
